Murrells Inlet is also home to the largest show case of American figurative sculpture and horticulture gardens in the country, it is called Brookgreen Gardens. Within its over 9,000 acres you will view some of the most significant sculptural artwork by American artists in the world. You will also find it home to the Center of American Sculpture, Low Country History and Wildlife Preserve and Huntington Sculpture Garden. An absolute "must see" for everyone!
Huntington State Park, located across the street from Brookgreen Gardens, is steeped in history and is an awesome example of the areas natural resources. It's an ocean front state park that offers camping, fishing, hiking trails, three miles of unspoiled beach, bike trails, and bird watching. A beautiful way to get away from it all!
Wacca Wache Marina offers fresh water fishing and boating. It is one of the prettiest stretches of the Intracoatal Waterway. The drive there alone welcomes you with a tree lined road of old Oaks dripping with Spanish moss. Once there you'll find docks, wet slips and dry dock storage, as well as a local eatery known as Hannah Bananas where you can kick back and enjoy a bite to eat, a cold beverage, and breathtaking waterway views.
